Collecting bad debts

I was tasked to handle a big account in the company. It was a new account that the big bosses got fairly recent. The company is having problems collecting their receivables. Some of these receivables are even from their regular customers. Return customers whom they have been dealing with for the longest time now. But some of these customers suffered because of the recent economic slump. And these businesses closed down because of it.

But the account I am handling is adamant that they collect from these customers. Even those that have closed down. The collectibles is such a big amount and critical for this year’s evaluation by the company headquarters. Collection will play a big part in their continued existence. If they will get the thumbs up, their next problem is the next fiscal year’s budget. The global CFO is angry that the account has let their collectibles become that big and not sound an alarm beforehand.

So I am tasked to help them collect even a third of their current collectibles. It was a big task and I told my boss that we need the help of a Collection Agency. American Profit Recovery can be a big help. I was given a go signal and have told the account’s boss that APR charges a flat and reasonable rate.
