Unexpected phone call

I got a call from my friend’s cousin out of the blue. We got along famously when I spent a week at their resthouse a year ago during the summer. Since then, he would call me up to say hi from time to time. But for a few months now, he was busy with a career shift that we hardly had time to talk to each other.
