Rest in peace, Mrs. President.

The iconic face behind the Edsa Revolution, María Corazón “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino died early this morning, August 1, 2009 around 3:18AM at the Makati Medical Center.

Tita Cory, as she is fondly called, served as the 11th president of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of the Philippines and was Asia’s first female president. She had a year-long battle with colon cancer and finally succumbed to cardio-respiratory arrest this morning.

Rest in peace, Mrs. President.

  • I’m not very familiar with the Philippine government Sasha, but I one thing came to mind when I read this article. A woman president. That’s something America won’t see for a long time, I believe. Go Philippines. Heh.

I hope you’re doing well Sasha.

  • May God bless u Corazon Aquino..Rest in peace..huhu
