Cutting down on costs
By Sasha on Jan 4, 2010 in Brain wave
I just talked to my friend and he told me that people in their office are demanding insurance quotes for this year. The management have decided to get cheaper policies for their operations department. He is opposing the move but he’s guessing the bosses will win in the end. They’re cutting down on costs. Human resources, particularly the compensation and benefits team, is taking the brunt of the campaign. I told him that he ought to use his accounting skills to check if there really is a need to cut down on the benefits of the operations department.
I love talking to my friend. I think it’s the terms we both know from our profession that I love the most. I can use the jargon and he can understand me right away. I need not interpret whatever I am saying and that’s a great conversation for me. Of course, when it’s blogging we’re talking about, he gets lost.
