Therapy

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Not everyone is comfortable with the idea of therapy. Or counselling for some people. Sometimes, it is just hard for people to open up, especially about their personal lives. Counseling Ottawa knows that. That’s why when you contact them, they will explain everything to you in a compassionate and considerate way.

Just visiting their web site will sooth your nerves. The color of the site is light green, which is soothing to the eyes. The site is not cluttered. No banners that blink of the sidebars, no moving photos that make your slow connection even slower, and everything is straightforward. I love web sites like this. No non-sense, so to speak.

Now, for a person to heal emotionally, opening up and talking about the most personal things in your life can really be helpful. What will help you get through the ordeal is for you to have a therapist who is not just knowledgeable about a lot of things but is also compassionate and considerate of the personal nature of what you are wanting to work through. No need to worry about being embarrassed. Healing completely, working through your personal issues should be your utmost concern. Theravive will help you with all of these.

Go to their web site now at Theravive.com for more information.

Greendoor: a literary site

Monday, December 31st, 2007

They say that all bloggers are writers in their own right. I say, amen to that. We have our own writing style. Some people may like it, some won’t. I know that almost all writers secretly dream of getting published at one point of their writing careers.

Thank goodness for Greendoor Publishing then. It is a well established literary site that offers Poetry, Fiction Publishing to all emerging and established writers out there. Their reputation precedes them and they are highly respected in the industry. They encourage experimental writing. Aside from publishing, they also offer an Online editing service. Greendoor’s editors offer a positive feedback to bring out the best in writers. I believe this one because back at the university, one of my professors always tell each of us something positive in our works, making us give our best even more. That is the philosophy Greendoor is adhering to. What good is a negative feedback if it will only cause depression and discourage to the writer, right?

Ghost Writing is also being offered at Greendoor Publishing. If you want to write something but is incapable of doing so, you can ask someone from Greendoor to do it for you. No need to worry because Greendoor writers and editors are all professionals.

So if you need to get published, or would want to but your work needed editing, OR you need someone to write it for you, then go and check out Greendoor Publishing now.

Lasik equals 20-20 vision

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

I have a poor eyesight. They say it is hereditary since almost all of us on my maternal side of the family wear corrective glasses or contacts. But personally, I think the culprit is my books. I started reading thick novels when I was in second year high school. And when I get hooked on something, there is no stopping me from getting my hands on the really great novels I found in my grandmother’s chest. So I read and read and read. When my dad learned about my obsession with novel reading, he ordered me to stop reading on weekdays and just continue reading on weekends. Did I heed his order? No, I did not. I used a flashlight and kept reading under the covers, to the detriment of my vision. A few months into my scheming hobby, I had to ask my mom to take me to the doctor to have my eyes checked. And guess what I found out?

Yes, poor eyesight.

I had to start wearing glasses since then. Alternately, I use contact lenses when going out. My eyesight is now very poor since without glasses or contacts, I see blurred shapes only. That’s how bad it has become.

Lasik eye surgery, have you heard of this procedure of correcting one’s vision?

I have been hearing great things about Lasik eye surgery. A friend of mine went home from New York City and decided to try it at a local Asian eye clinic. She was raving about the procedure! Painless and quick, her vision is now back to 20-20.

I have read about this procedure at DocShop, an online website about the latest news and most reliable information about health care procedures and technologies. Lasik, it says, can treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism in patients. I am nearsighted so I think I qualify for the procedure. But hey, that’s just me. Before submitting yourself into Lasik eye surgery, an eye expert checks you first. That is the standard procedure as not all persons with poor eyesight can be candidates for this procedure. I have read in DocShop that persons under 18 years of age are not good candidates for Lasik.

So what does a Lasik procedure entail?

Well, during a Lasik procedure, refractive surgeons reshape the cornea by removing precise amounts of corneal tissue to correct the patient’s degree of refractive error. In simple words, they remove certain surface tissues of your cornea to take away that which causes vision error. And did you know that the procedure only takes about 15 minutes to perform? Quick procedure! And through the expertise of so many refractive surgeons nowadays, the cost of a Lasik have decreased and have become more affordable to many people who truly need it.

Who needs clear vision anyway? Do we benefit from clear vision?

For some people, wearing glasses or contacts has become second nature already. I speak for myself, because I am so used to having glasses perched on my nose bridge that I don’t notice it anymore. But do you know that I still want to get back my 20-20 vision? Just imagine these… I had to wear contacts when swimming which is very risky… it’s hard to see when it’s raining and doubly hard when I am wearing my glasses… contacts can make your eyes feel gritty after a period of time wearing it…and when I want to play badminton, I worry that my eyes will get hit while I was wearing my contacts… With a 20-20 vision, no more hassles like I have mentioned. And hey, it is not cheap to have your glasses upgraded from time to time. The costs of it will eventually catch up and might become more expensive than having the Lasik done on you.

For more information on Lasik eye surgery as well as other healthcare issues that you might have, I suggest you go to DocShop. In the pages of DocShop, you will find all the information you need to take informed, confident steps toward improving your health and your life.

At DocShop, only the reputable specialist in your area will assist you with health issues. No more, no less.

Sukob na…

Monday, July 16th, 2007

I was supposed to be on blog leave for a week. I am currently finishing ten books that I’ve marked for reading. Sounds geeky ano? Haha. I haven’t read a book for months because I am focused on these online revenue programs. But that’s not the only reason why I took a blog leave. I am also taking care of a personal matter. Good thing that personal matter’s already in Canada. Sad? Relieved? Can’t decide.

I visited some blogs today. I was supposed to post something tomorrow, on a different topic, but this blog inspired me to post something today and spread some love. BluePanjeet has “Sukob na” embedded in his blog. I’ve been playing the song over and over. It’s a song that makes me smile for the simple reason that it brings back good memories. And it brought back so many good ones. Especially that Saturday night I got sick. Hahaha… Can you see me smiling? :) BluePanjeet’s starting a Food for the Soul series of posts. So watch out for it. The photos of food (that will make you hungry, believe me) are taken from Dom Lawrence, OSB. Visit Brother Dom’s blog if you need some spiritual pep talks. Of course you can visit Br. Vince’s as well. Mas smiling face lang si brother Dom kay kuya (peace kuya!) :)
I would just like to tell everyone that my Alexa rank is improving each and every day. Thank you, Mousey! We contributed a little to the rank’s improvement. But it’s all 90% of her efforts paying off. Nakakahiya sa kanya. We’re all reaping the fruits of her hard work. And at the rate things are going, baka we’ll be in the top 100,000 come year-end. Yey! I will make it up to you, sister. Promise yan. Do check out her post about her weekend. It’s her hubby’s birthday this week so she’s really busy cleaning up the house for the upcoming celebration.

I changed my theme, obviously, and finally managed to organize my links. Please check if I linked u up and your link is correct. If not, please tell me and I apologize in advance. I will act on it immediately.

I can’t stop smiling.

Sukob na, halika na… sabay tayo sa payong ko… Yakap ka, kapit pa… Umulan, bumagyo magkasama tayo sa payong ko magkasama tayong dalawa…
