Weekend Snapshot #32 – Happy New Year!

Fish is the symbol of prosperity in Chinese. So I am sharing with you this tikoy shaped as a fish given to my sister by her Chinese student. I am praying that all of us will have a prosperous 2009!

It’s the Year of the Ox. This Ox coin bank was also given to my sister as a sign of good luck. I am sharing with you this photo as a way of saying good luck to each one of us.

WAH Moments and WS#30: New Desktop

I bought a new desktop. My old one crashed a few months ago. Instead of having it repaired which would mean a new motherboard, I thought of buying a new CPU instead. My cousin accompanied me (with my brother James and my friend Shen) last Saturday to buy the necessary CPU parts. We had it installed and because my old monitor is small, I thought I’d buy an LCD monitor. And here it is. I forgot to take a photo of my CPU though. I am more proud of the lovely LCD monitor hahaha

The reason why I bought a desktop is because I am online for more than 12 hours daily. I am afraid my laptop would die on me sooner than it’s expected life. Plus it might overheat. Thus the desktop. The laptop will be used when I go out or when my sister has some typing to do. And for my other sister to do the EC dropping for me

You know, the most essential tool for working at home is the computer. So if there is anything at all I could do that will prolong its life, I do it. Unlike in offices where if your computer crashes, or something goes wrong with it, there are other computers you can use. At home, I can only rely on what I have and buying a new one takes some time. Like this desktop took me a couple of months to save and buy one.

Several things…

• First off, it is now September 1st. There will be a couple of events in the family this month. 3 birthdays, 1 death anniversary.
• I am in a quandary over the overlapping topics in this blog and at my other blog. I know I will be able to resolve it soon. But I just want you to know that this is the reason why there are not much updates in this blog.
• My once almost 900 Technorati Authority is now down to 500-something. I believe it is going down some more. People have been telling me that the reason behind the down slide in Technorati Authority is because they only keep the 6 months active links. Am I right? I guess I need to find some ways to generate fresh links for this blog. Hmm…
• You will see more non-sponsored posts about products here. Plus I think I will resurrect my Dneero surveys for everyone to answer if they care to.
• My Alexa Rank is doing great! Thanks to Entrecard and the traffic from other sites.
• I believe my Weekend Snapshot entries will now be transferred to Solitude. No more memes here if I can help it. All memes and tags will be done in my other blogs.

Weekend Snapshot #27 – Lifehouse

I am a huge fan of Lifehouse. They recently had a concert here in Manila and since it was near my birthday, I decided to treat myself and my sisters (that includes Shen) to a night with Jason Wade.

Needless to say, we had a blast! It was well worth the ticket price, I tell you. Although they did not sang my favorite song, Everything, they sang all the other hits from their past and present albums.
