How Old Are You?

a forwarded email made me reflect today. here it goes…
How Old Are You?
By Catherine Pulsifer
from wow4u.com

If we did not know our age, some of us would appear to be very young, and some of us would seem very old.

Sometimes, people use age as a convenient excuse. “I’m too old to start something new”, or, “I couldn’t learn that at my age.” Other people, though, go on to achieve their greatest accomplishments in life in later years.

Take, for example, Colonel Harland Sanders who started franchising his chicken outlets when he was 65 years old. Up to the age of 90 years old he traveled 250,000 miles a year visiting KFC franchises. He not only overcame personal and business adversities, but more importantly, he didn’t let age stand in his way!

Feelings lead to attitudes, attitudes become beliefs, and beliefs become the basis for actions.

It is not important how old you are;
it is how you feel, how you think,
and what you do that is important.

To quote Satchel Paige, “How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you was.”

in cheese land

Filed under: cheesey — admin @ 12:28 pm

my trip to cheeseland gave me the oppurtunity to see lots of cheese and to have a glimpse of these bulbs that bloom.

my vacation was alloted in renovating my bedroom and workroom. so its a pity that i have no computer connection. during those weekends i find time to spend it in neighboring lands of amsterdam and brussels. and the holy week was just alloted at home. the first destination was in chesseland… aside from cheese, holland is rich with bulbs that bloom. i visited Keukenhof the most photographed location in the world and the most beautiful spring garden on earth. The park has more than 7 million flowering bulbs, which are planted by hand each year.

here are some trivia i got about the park:

  • in the 15th century the area on which Keukenhof was streched os unspoilt nature used for hunting and for gathering herbs for the kitchen at the castles. Hence the name keukenhof means kitchen garden
  • the park is 32 hectares
  • for a visit to keukenhof you need approximately 5 hours
  • Keukenhof receives over 700,000 national and international visitors annually.
  • A bridal pair is always welcome at keukenhof during the opening hours of the park
  • A bridal pair, with photographer and bridesmaids, has free acess.
  • the layout of the park is based on english landscape garden
  • the flower garden was the idea in 1949 of a town mayor to have a flower exhibit where growers from all over the netherlands and europe could show off their hybrids
  • According to research the park is the most photographed location in the world.
  • the theme for this year is the 300th birth years of the swedish physian and botanist Carolus Linnaeus, the king of flowers.

i leaved you some pictures here in slideshow and I Wish You all a Bright and Flowery day! same greeting that welcomed me at the entrance gate.

Flower In The Desert

Flower In The Desert

by Loki
from spiritual-endeavors.org

This happened many many summers ago.

There was a young flower in the desert where all was dry and sad looking…It was growing by itself…enjoying every day…and saying to the sun “When shall I be grown up”? And the sun would say “Be patient”—Each time I touch you,you grow a little”…And she was so pleased.Because she would have a chance to bring beauty to this corner of sand…And this is all she wanted to do—bring a little bit of beauty to this world.

One day the hunter came by—and stepped on her.—She was going to die—and she felt so sad.Not because she was dying —but because she would not have a chance to bring a little bit of beauty to this corner of the desert.

The great spirit saw her, and was listening.—Indeed,he said …She should be living…And he reached down and touched her—and gave her life.

And she grew up to be a beautiful flower…and this corner of the desert became so beautiful because of her.
