I had to call my assistant and my department head to inform them I cant go to work in the morning because of diarrhea. The cause might have been the foods I ate last night. I went out with my friends to watch a new Hollywood movie. After which, we had dinner, then ice cream and then coffee from different restaurants.

Because I need to attend to my work (a deadline is coming up), I informed them I will go to work in the afternoon and maybe have an overtime. My assistant reminded of her need of my signatures in some very important documents. So, I assured her I will report for work after lunch.

At 11.30am, while having lunch at home, my assistant called. I thought she was again checking if I’m ok and I will be really going to work. So when I answered the phone I greeted her with a “yes dear, im on my way to the office.” But she excitedly informed me that a FedEx package for me just arrived a few minutes ago, from my client. I was surprised and puzzled why and what my client would send. I don’t have another transaction with him until next month. My assistant was even teasing me it could be an advance valentines gift from him. Haha!

When I got the package, I immediately opened it, and behold, an elegant Burberry purse is inside the box with a note saying, “just saying my thanks for all your help. We exceeded our targets because of your guidance”

W0w! Its a nice feeling to know you helped other people to succeed. It’s
kinda elating! : -)

My cousin came for a visit last weekend. She was carrying so many shopping bags with her. I knew she haven’t gave up her shopping spree addiction. There was a time when she had been spending too much that most of her credit cards companies froze her account.

When I asked what happed to her credit cards, she just laughed. She informed me that after paying all her debt with them, she canceled all her cards. She minimized shopping especially for things that she doesn’t need. She make Payday Loans if she wants to buy something. That way she minimize buying things because she has now a limited means.

Then, I asked her about the things she is carrying and that did she had another shopping spree again. She again laughed and she said she didn’t have a shopping spree, she just bought some gifts for the kids and for my mom and dad. I told her I was glad to know she overcome her shopping addiction. She told me she has not yet totally over it but she is trying to discipline herself in the best way that she can.

Well, I hoped she could achieve the goals she set. And that in the end,she would realize that non of the materials things she craved for that matters.

My uncle in London who had been into a construction business for almost three decades called up my dad yesterday asking for help. He and his partners had a big and long dispute that led to litigations. To make the story short, he lost in one of the cases filed to him. But though its only one case, the damages that he has to pay will cost him almost all of his possessions. Good thing he had received the borrowed funds from an Endowment from a local financial institution a month before the dispute happened. To acquire more funds to pay the damages, he also had some of his properties auctioned. He may have only a little part for what he had, at least he will not loose everything. But He cant help but to feel down about the things that happened to him. He knew he was right with his decisions in running the business and it turned out that as if everything was his fault. I pity him because its not only his physical properties that he lost, even his friends. His image is ruined and now he doesn’t know where to start. My dad offered him to take his family here so that they can start a new life with us. I don’t know if he will accept my dad’s advise.

Life.. You really don’t know when it will press you down. You just have to be strong and believe that everything that is happening in your life has reasons. You may not know now what are these resons but it be revealed to you soon. definitely!
