The recent typhoons have left our country, Philippines, truly devastated. Typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng and the latest, Ramil.

Tents were set up and tied properly for the people of Northern Luzon. These tents currently serve as temporary evacuation for the people who will be hit by typhoon Ramil.

Because of Ondoy and Pepeng, people of some parts of Pasig City are still using makeshift bridges (like the one below) to cross the streets. These makeshift bridges are pieces of wood tied together and manned by volunteers asking for coins from the people using it.

I am thankful that no one in my family have experienced what it felt like to be tied to a big fat rope and pulled to safety. Of course, I feel sad that so many of my fellowmen experienced it. I once had to walk through a flooded street and it was only thigh-high but still a very scary ordeal for me. How much more with these people who even had to walk through neck-deep flood waters…

typhoon-3

It is sunny here in Manila, but still foggy in some parts of the Northern Luzon. I am praying that there won’t be typhoons to come in for the rest of the year. And for typhoon Ramil to finally leave the country.

Happy weekend everyone!

This is my first time to join Photohunt. The theme for today is TIED. I hope I did well :)
