No classes in Metro Manila tomorrow

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Red alert has been raised in Metro Manila tomorrow, due to the president’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) as well as the celebration of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC)’s 95th founding anniversary.

Not only that, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced that classes in the elementary and secondary levels will be suspended on Monday, July 27, 2009. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) followed suit and made their own announcement that classes in the collegiate level are also suspended. This is understandable considering the center of the INC celebrations will be in Metro Manila.

I am sure that students will either be at the rallies or at the mall. Probably the latter since the weather in Metro Manila has gone hotter the past two days. It’s as if there were no storms that passed by the country.

Wherever you will be tomorrow, be vigilant. People with nothing else to do will surely start something to create chaos. Stay safe!

Going out

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

I wish there are rvs and rv parks here in the country. We could go there and spend less on a day out. It just entered my mind how expensive going out has become these days. Sure, you can go to the mall with cash enough for your fare and a really cheap snack combo. But if you go out with someone else, or your siblings, kids or your whole family, that cash need to be much more than what you would have spent on yourself alone. A friend who lives abroad told me that their family loves going to an rv park a little distance from their place of residence. They go on picnics and meet up with family friends. And it was always fun and less costly because they bring their own food, cook it and share amongst themselves. I want a day out like that!

The Planner

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

I talked to one of my former bosses last weekend. She told me that their company is really busy right now, already preparing for the coming Halloween, Thanksgiving and Holidays. Knowing her, I am sure that her staff are working double time, seeming as if the parties will be this coming weekend instead of months away. She is a perfectionist and wants even the smallest detail to be perfect. That’s why it came as no surprise to me when she said that she’ll be hiring a Holiday Party Planner. The company Christmas party is a big event in the industry where she belongs to, where I once belonged.

She told me about Event Solutions. They are the top on the list of Holiday Event Planners being considered. She wants a planner who’s involved with every detail of the event. What she likes about Event Solutions is that, they can provide everything, from catering to entertainment. They’ve been in the business for 20 years and is owned by a woman. My former boss is very particular with that. She wants someone who can understand her OC tendencies. And only a woman can do so. Believe me.

I checked out Event Solutions. This Christmas Event Planner provides impeccable service. If you want everything taken cared of for you regarding your holiday parties, go get their services. Check them out at EventSolutions.com now.

From the experts

Putting up a business doesn’t end with the legal documents and the brand launch. There’s more to do after that. More things to accomplish for the business to grow and eventually pull it’s own wheels to success. There’s advertising to think of. I remember a college professor telling us in one of our business classes that name recall is not enough. Your business might already be a household name but that should not be reason for you to be complacent. There’s always competition waiting on the wings to snatch up the top spot. That is precisely the reason why big brand names are continuously advertising and launching promotions.

The same goes for any online business. Now, if you need online advertising specialists, look no further. There’s Status Media Plc. waiting to help you out. It is an online marketing agency and strategic outsourcing business that promises results. The team behind the company has over five years’ digital experience. In my book, that is enough time for them to really know the market. The offer cpa lead generation and SEM services.

There are companies who are able to tap their market. But they are not optimizing its potential. They could have earned more had they sought the help of marketing professionals. There are things that are better left to the expertise of those who truly know it.

With Status Media Plc, being a search engine optimisation company as well, they know everything when it comes to online presence. They know how to optimize a web site to drive traffic to it, thereby creating more potential customers in the process. And more customers will translate to bigger profit in the long run.

Got an online business that needs the helping hands of marketing and SEO professionals, go to StatusMediaPlc.com now and know more about what they offer.

Bringing in traffic with the use of suggestive images

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

I don’t know with you but I get turned off by racy ads, or those suggestive images. I’m not being a prude or anything but I think there are other ways to entice a customer. I also think that more and more kids using the internet should not be exposed to these ads. They are impressionable and let’s face it, not everyone has an adult with them to guide them and teach them right and wrong.

In Entrecard, you will see widgets of women in sexy poses or costumes. I normally don’t approve ads with these images. Why? Because the little girl at home would often look over my shoulder and ask what the image she sees on the computer. This is also the reason why I stopped dropping on blogs with racy or suggestive content. I’ve run into a lot of these blogs.

I know some people use sexy women or suggestive images to entice curiosity, bring in traffic. When I was still a member of Spott, I noticed that this is what they do. Use sexy women in their ads. I stopped being a member and deleted the widget when friends started asking if I was already featuring a porn ad in my blog!

There are so many ways to entice a customer or a reader to go visit your blog/site. I believe we need not use sexy women or suggestive/porn-like images to achieve this goal.
