Reminiscin’

Do you guys remember this song?

When I keep wondering who’s holding Donna now
And I keep wondering who’s heart she’s knocking around
There’s nothing I wouldn’t do
To be in his shoes somehow
And I keep wondering who’s holding Donna now
And I keep wondering what magic can be found
To turn me back to the one who’s holding Donna now

I just remembered because I am currently listening to it. I remember this was my high school classmate’s favorite song. I just remembered hehe…

Songs can make us remember even the tiniest details of our lives. When you hear a song, you feel this tug in your heart and then a memory resurfaces, good or bad.

During nights like these, when I have tons of things to do, I make it a point to turn on the radio. Besides keeping me company, music helps me think.

And I was able to hear this old song din…

in my time, i’ve lived and loved so much
through each high and low, i let my heart be touched
in my time, there isnt much i’ve missed,
i’ve seen love come and go, but heaven knows, i’ve never loved like this
in my time

My mom was into love songs, even when I was a kid. There were only 3 stations allowed in our home… 90.7 Love Radio (the old station not this new noisy one), 94.7 Mellow Touch and 96.3 WRock. Yan lang, wala ng iba. So you can just imagine the songs we all listen to. I got to meet The Carpenters, Carly Simon, Bee Gees, Kenny Rogers, George Benson and the like. Mellow songs talaga. My friends were laughing at me because my favorite songs were super oldies when everyone was into pop music. I don’t know if people my age knows Johnny Mathis. I love that man’s voice! Ay, I have 2 friends pala who knows him and can relate to what I’m saying. Kaya when Josh Groban and Michael Buble became popular, I was so happy because the oldies are back. And if you like Michael Buble, better listen to Harry Connick, Jr. He came out prior to Michael Buble and his voice is… hay sexy! Okay I should stop blabbering now…

All I wanted to tell you guys lang naman is ang ganda ng songs sa madaling araw…

i have a strong feeling we are from the same “eon”…:)

despite my earlobe ornaments and skin arts, i’m very much an oldie song junkie, specially the 80′s. love songs and all. but i have no choice but be in tune with the times, literally, to snoop on what my growing kids are listening to.

now i’m not so sure if it’s proactive parenting or i just making it as an excuse…:p

Oh golly gee! hindi ko alam yung tono pero from reading the lyrics I think It’s kinda familiar.. hmmm search ko yung song na yan dahil nakalimutan ko na eh, I listen to classic songs while at work makes us relax more. and yeah, agree ako sayo songs bring back memories whether it’s good or bad, you get to remember all those things that you did at that time, very nice talaga…

    God bless po, ate sasha!

I like the lyrics you published; I am sure i’d love the melody too (if you could play it … hahaa). I am glad your generation or some of it anyway still digs Johnny Mathis. Buble … I like too tho he tends to be predictable .. almost boring when you’ve listened to say 3 of his albums. Josh Groban sing slike an angel … i’d listen to him any old time. Who is this other artisit you wrote about? Harry Connick .. hmm sounds promising. will check him out. Ty my sasha and have a good weekend ahead.

Yay, I tried to avoid mellow music especially love songs. Ha-ha mas lalo pang lala ang problema ko. Parati akong sawi sa pag-ibig, mga love songs kakalungkot poakinggan at may tendency pa akong mag e-emote at mag day dreaming, he-he. :D

Mas in sakin ang mga oldies, marami na tayo manang.

    I don’t remember that song…

But I do like Michael Buble. Saw him in concert once, in Toronto. But I like Harry Connick Jr. a lot more than Buble.

Hi Sasha. It’s true how a song can bring memories and tug your heart to remind you of vivid details of the past. I love listening to the radio on wednesday and friday evenings because they play old songs. I love reminiscing especially on a rainy day. :)
