2010 presidential campaign starting already???
Manny Villar is very vocal about his plans to run for president of this country in the 2010 elections.
This guy started campaigning for the 2010 presidential elections way back in June, I believe. His campaign disguised as a commercial is all about Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) maltreated by their employers. In his commercial, it is being reiterated how the senator paid (from his own pocket) for the OFWs airfare just so they can go back here in the country. Which I seriously doubt considering he was recently embroiled in this C5 Extension Road double funding issue.
Same with Manny Villar, Loren Legarda is also very vocal about her plans for the 2010 elections.
Now, this woman, followed in Manny Villar’s footsteps. This early, she has started already her presidential campaign disguised as a commercial for change. I don’t know exactly what she’s peddling in that commercial except that she wants change.
I don’t know if there is a law that these two presidentiables are violating by airing their campaign this early. 2010 is a long time from now! Isn’t there a law in Comelec stating the period when they can only campaign? I know Mar Roxas, who’s also running for president in 2010 has started campaigning using the internet. I heard he met with some bloggers, probably hoping they will write positively about him. But Manny Villar and Loren Legarda are using national tv already. I once worked for an entertainment company and one of the services we provided was tv commercials. I know from experience that it is expensive to air a commercial at primetime. These two are airing theirs several times on primetime tv! I wonder how they can get back the funds they are spending now. At least Mar Roxas uses a cheaper medium. Although I am not saying that I approve of his ways.
To my fellow Filipinos, I know that it is still early to remind you but I will go ahead and do so now… Be wise in voting in the 2010 elections. Remember that Villar and Legarda are already spending money to campaign this early. Always remind yourself that these two will be spending more by the time the official campaign period rolls on. And I wonder, how they can get back the millions they are spending now and will be spending in their campaigns. Think about that.

Isn’t Bayani Fernando going to run in the 2010 elections? I kinda like him in a sense. His ways may be sometimes weird like the pink fences, pink lanes, pink everything but at least he’s getting something done. Sure beats the others who are just concerned with ousting the president instead of doing something productive and concrete for the betterment of our country. It’s just a matter of choosing the lesser of the evils, and I think he’s the next better shot we have for a change.
