An unsolicited advice
I can really feel the effect of the global financial crisis. Money kept pouring in this time last year. This year, since October, money is hard to come by. Oh yes, I am still earning more than if I am employed by a corporation. But you can just feel how much this quarter is different, especially when I look at my bank statement.
I don’t know if everyone is feeling the financial crisis like I do. Some may be earning more now because they just discovered paid posting. But most bloggers I talked to have the same situation as I am.
The point of this post is to reiterate the value of saving for the rainy days. My savings were mostly spent on vacations with the whole family. I kept on telling myself that I could earn it again easily. But look at me now.
So let me offer an unsolicited advice to everyone… SAVE! Find ways to save even a peso/dollar daily and you will be amazed at how much that peso/dollar can help in times of crisis.
I am an accountant, a CPA. I'd been working for 10 years as a corporate rat when I decided to quit. I am now working at home as a consultant and full time blogger.

That’s true. Now, more than ever, we should start saving for some unforeseen expenses (personal emergencies, sickness in the family, etc.)and more so for our future. We definitely don’t want to grow old penniless.

I’m with you on how little opps nowadays but I still earn more than if I’m working in corporate world. Definitely need to save every single cents whenever I can.

This is one of the wisest advices during tough time like this. In fact in the book, The Richest Man in Babylon, it is stated as the first rule to save a part of whatever we earn.

yeap! i was hit by subprime! i was hit by the bloody financial crisis! i am one of those stupid percentages on the the unemployment chorva and now? waaa! ~prst~ no more opps in blogging! grrr~!

just dropping by from jo’s place. your post caught my attention immediately. ang hirap kasi ng buhay ngayon dito sa tin. talagang tayong mga Pinoy eh dapat todo-tipid sa hirap ng buhay.
totoo yan. dapat talaga kahit magtipid kahit sa anong paraan. the “rainy seasons in the Philippines is a lot longer than the sunny days”.
