Non taxable income

As most of you know by now, I worked as an accounting manager for one of the biggest call centers here in the Philippines for a number of years. I was part of the pioneer group. But then I got tired of the 18-hour work schedule. I was on call even on Sundays. It was fun at first. Challenging, to say the least. I was enjoying myself because the job was demanding. Of course, I should mention that the pay was more than what I expected and demanded. Besides the basic salary, I was also given a car allowance, non taxable. The non taxable allowances were a big come on to me. I started out in a lower position than what I previously held in the company before the call center. I accepted the offer because of the compensation package. That time, I was badly in need of an income and I was given just that.

I worked for years with the company. I did more than what was required from me. The work I have done was more than what was expected from me. That’s because I truly loved the challenge and my foreign counterparts who were all very helpful. But then, I got sick and tired of the work schedule so I quit.
