I have been in this situation before when the company I was working at transferred offices. A number of filing cabinets, office equipment, desks and chairs, computer equipment and a number of other items needed in the office. It was chaos! I was in-charge so I knew first-hand what it took for the move to be complete.

Meralco bills

The amount of our Meralco electric bills are “see-sawing”. About two months ago, it started decreasing as we are really cutting down on our electric use. But for this month, I was surprised to find it back to the high amount it was. I checked if we’re consuming more than the previous month. But that’s not the case. Our electric consumption is actually almost the same as last month.

Meralco is duping us with this electric bill refund they’re boasting about. I believe that while we are all focusing on the refund, they are increasing the cost of those other charges they are billing us every month.

I don’t know if you notice this but as I budget and pay for the bills every month, I am aware of this see-sawing Meralco bills.

Promotional gimmick

My cousin is looking for a vendor of gift cards. Their business is growing despite the economic crunch and she’s thinking of a promotional gimmick. The gift cards will serve as an advertisement for their company. I know this will work because whatever they are doing right now, with their business growing, I know they are on the right track. And if they feel that gift cards will do their business good, then so be it.

Back to the original one

It pays to save files! I checked my email this morning for a copy of the original customized theme I asked from SimplyWP. Found this one. Including the original header.

You might be wondering why I had to get the original theme… You see, last night, I almost got a really good opportunity from a program I am a member of. Unfortunately, when the administrator checked this blog, he got a virus alert. Naturally, he disapproved this blog’s bid! Too bad, really.

As I’ve said before, I asked help to determine where this virus is coming from. I was told that it’s already okay. I changed databases just to be sure. I cleaned out everything. And then, to be told that this blog still has that darn virus… Aargh!

After analyzing everything, I deduced that the virus might be in the themes folder. Because when I changed databases, the only thing I uploaded was the customized theme folder. And remember that remv.php Wordpress exploit? Might have something to do with it. Anyway, what I did today was, I deleted the old one and then uploaded the original folder. Tweaked things a bit, put a different background, put back the old favicon and voila!

I hope that this will work now. If not, I don’t know what else to do

Cool breeze

This is the season when it pays to have trees around your house. We all need the cool breeze to counter the heat of the surroundings. I really salute those men and women who made it their advocacy to preserve the environment. I remember when I was still a kid, our neighborhood looked like a place in the province. Trees everywhere. Now, houses stand side by side. There are still plants in some houses here in the neighborhood. My grandma’s house still has two trees in her backyard. But other than that, no more trees to cool the muggy air.
