Fire exit

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

exit-signWhen I enter a building, I unconsciously take note of where the fire exit is through the exit signs on the floor I am at. It is a product of attending so many building security seminars and briefings when I was still acting as the admin officer of a media company where I was employed before. I acted as the finance and admin officer of that company. We were only around ten employees and as an admin officer, it was my duty to know the basic safety measures to be taken during an emergency.

An exit sign is very important for those who are tasked to be the point person in emergencies. In my case back then, it was easy considering our office had a fire exit near us. With so many fires breaking out in different parts of the city, exit signs are very important, especially when there’s chaos and you don’t know where to run to.

If the fire exits in the building your company is housed in doesn’t have signs on it, tell the building administration to check out EXIT SIGNS at ExitSigns.com immediately. Get the ones that you need and put it in places where there should be exit signs posted.

Keywords

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

I checked the hits I got for the past month and I was not surprised anymore that the keywords that got hit a lot by search engines are DSL, Bayantel, ISP Companies in Manila, Bayantel DSL and Dollar-Peso Exchange Rate. I am not an expert in search engine optimization (SEO) but I think I am doing something right with the way I write my entries.

WAH Moments: Audit time

Friday, March 13th, 2009

It’s been a while since I shared a work-at-home moment. Been busy. I am trying to earn more than the usual. That’s because I am sending my brother to college plus I want to have a great summer vacation this year. Aside from blogging and some bookkeeping gigs, I am currently auditing a recruitment agency. My aunt’s husband owns one and since it’s nearing Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, they asked me to do the audit of their agency. Instead of lugging around my laptop from Quezon City to Paco to Quezon City, I am carrying a memory stick with me everywhere I go. This is the wonder of modern technology really. You need not carry heavy files with you. My aunt has a scanner in the office so instead of carrying files I need to look at when I’m home, I just scan it.

This is probably why working at home is such a breeze for me. There are just too many gadgets that can make my life easier. Especially now that it’s audit time once again!

Good news to Paypal-Unionbank users!

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Update: For those who do not know Unionbank’s web site URL, here it is: https://www.unionbankph.com. You can apply for a Unionbank savings account or EON online.

Yay! Transfer from Paypal account to Unionbank account is faster now than before! Mine took a little less than 2 days to get the USD credited to my account!

I use Paypal for the paid programs I am a member of. When I need to withdraw my USD from my Paypal account, I transfer it to my local bank account. I have a Unionbank savings account. I noticed last week that the email coming from Paypal saying that you withdrew money from your account says that the transfer will be complete in 2-5 days, if there are no glitches. Before, the email says that the withdrawal and transfer will be complete in 5-7 days.

Last Tuesday, March 10, I withdrew my USD from Paypal to my Unionbank account. Normally, it will get credited after 3-4 days. But lo and behold! I checked my Unionbank savings account a few hours ago and the amount is already credited! It took a little less than 2 days for the transaction to complete!

So now, Paypal-Unionbank users, withdrawal to your bank account is much faster than before. I am not sure if it is the same with other local banks. Let me know if you are also using other than Unionbank, if the transfer is as fast as this.

iphone

A friend of mine bought a second-hand Apple iPhone. She was very happy to finally own one, albeit a second-hand. The thing is, the iPhone is locked to a particular telecom network. She wants to use her old sim card from a competing network. I told her that there is a solution to her problem. Unlock Apple iPhone’s software and services!

It is now easy to Unlock iPhone. You need not be a tech-savvy person because there’s no technical know-how required to do it. You can even use any sim card you have. There’s a 24/7 customer support from the web site. All you have to do is purchase the software and instructions will be sent to you on how to proceed from there.

The iPhone Unlock software from Unlock Apple iPhone is compatible with any iPhone purchased anywhere in the world. So my friend can really use this. Excuse me as I go to tell my friend about this wonderful software. If you are also interested, go to Unlock-Apple-iPhone.com now!
