In need of projectors

Friday, October 15th, 2010

A public school in our barangay is in need of projectors. The school will use it for special classes and events in school. They used to have one but it broke down and couldn’t be fixed anymore.

The school principal is asking generous citizens for a pocket projector. It’s easier to carry around and can be used in classrooms. She is also appealing for an LCD projector for special events in school. And for the special classes given to batches of students at the mini auditorium. Or she will also be happy with a laptop projector. Any help will be appreciated.

The ones that will work

I know those of you who want to buy diet pills are thinking… do diet pills really work? Will it be worth my money? Do I really benefit from it?

My aunt has health problems. She has her regular medical check-ups and she told me that her doctor kept reminding her to lose weight. One time she told her doctor that she’s really having a hard time dieting because even though she has lessened her intake of rice and red meat, she’s still the same weight. Her doctor advised her to try diet pills. She had a thorough check-up first then she was given a prescription for the diet pills and she tried it. It had a good effect on her. Her doctor gave her a time frame for it and she really lost a few pounds from it.

Of course, we have different body types. What worked for my aunt might not necessarily work for you and me. So it’s better to check first. And then get the diet pills that will work for you.

The business of spamming

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Wow! For the very first time, I opened my admin page and there are no spam comments! Thank you, Akismet! And thank you, too, spammers for sparing my blog! Hehehe!

Anyway, there was a topic in a radio show about spamming. This was just related to me. According to my source, a caller told the radio hosts that he/she works for a company whose sole purpose is to spam the web. I am not sure what exactly is their target but my guess would be blogs and email accounts. What struck me the most in the story was that the caller told the radio hosts that the company earns more than a million pesos in a month in spamming alone! Wow! I didn’t even know that spamming is that lucrative!

I was once accused by someone that I might have left spam comments in her blog. WTH, right? I told her that I won’t benefit from that and I would have let her accuse me if I knew I would earn from spamming. That was an ignorant statement, of course! Now I know there are earnings in spamming! Hahaha!

Spam comments and emails are annoying. Thank goodness for Akismet and the one-click button to delete spam comments and emails! But seriously, I am still wondering how these people earn from it when we, the bloggers and account owners, just delete spam right away? Or do they earn from those people who get lured to click on spammy links?

The business of spamming, ladies and gentlemen.

Alternative treatments for cancer

Monday, October 4th, 2010

Cancer. It’s a scary word. I’ve heard this thrice in my life. The first one was when my brother was diagnosed with leukemia. He was on 15 then. The second time was when one of our close relatives, my mom’s aunt, was diagnosed with breast cancer. And the third one was when my mom was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease which was, according to her doctor, a form of cancer. Having a family member sick with cancer is worrisome to say the least. You need to be updated about the form of cancer your loved one was sick with.

And having someone in the family sick with cancer made me open to alternative treatment of cancer. I am open to it. I am actually very much open to trying out alternative treatments especially for those who are afflicted with rare forms of cancer. Like what my mom had.

Know more about cancer and the alternative treatments for it. And do not lose hope.

EC spammy sites

Monday, October 4th, 2010

I keep on seeing dubious sites in Entrecard. There are sites masquerading as blogs but are actually marketing pitches on products that you don’t really know what could do to you. There are so many widgets showing women in various states of undress. Links that lead to sites that look to be splogs.

I don’t know if Entrecard is doing something to the sites. Or they just keep on accepting sites that pay even if the site is luring you to download software that can give you a virus.

I hope Entrecard will do something about spammy sites masquerading as blogs/legitimate sites.

Better safe…

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Better safe than sorry. That’s what I always hear my uncle say. And he’s right! His whole family will be going on a trip to the province a week before November 1st. They will be staying there for two weeks. Since they will be using their motorhome, my uncle is making sure that everything is in order. He is also making sure that the rv has a 5th wheel warranty in effect.

He is also getitng a roadside assistance should they encounter problems with the engine of the rv while on the road. You can never be too sure because accidents happen when you least expect it.

A deadly combination

Lyn is actively searching for the best supplements for weight loss. I swear the girl has been hell-bent on losing weight! She wants to fit into a sexy dress that she bought a couple of months ago. There will be a product launch in a client she’s handling and she wants to attend that event. She plans to wear the sexy dress to that event but since it’s a size smaller right now, she is doing her best to fit into that.

Some people have the discipline to go after a goal they set for themselves. Some need motivation, an inspiration, to start on that goal. Lyn has both right now: discipline and inspiration. It’s a deadly combination if you ask me!
