Nightcap, a ritual

I am reminded of my dad’s uncle who used to have this ritual of taking his nightcap, smoking his al capone cigars and then singing a song or two before going to bed. He used to live right next door so we could see him do it night after night. He was a character and we actually miss his presence.
He is now living in the province with his children. When his wife died, he stopped being active in the community and became somewhat a recluse. So his children and grandchildren decided that city life was enough for him and they took him back to their province right away.
He is now back to his nightly ritual according to my dad’s cousin.
