A great invention

I do think that the barcode scanner is a great invention. Remember those days when cashiers had to punch in a series of numbers for every item you purchase? Gone are those days! Now, a barcode scanner can do that in a blink of an eye!
Today marked the start of the 3-day Great Northern Sale in a popular mall in the city. My siblings and I went there to buy some stuff and boy, oh, boy! The queue in every checkout counter was long! While lining up to pay for a luggage, it just made me appreciate the barcode scanner as I see the cashier checking out items faster. I can only imagine how long the line could get if the cashier is manually punching in barcode numbers of each item.
