It was an unexpected visit from an old family friend but it was a pleasant surprise. I actually heard the neighbors rushing to buy something to serve to their visitor who gave the three college kids next door a challenge coin each. The old family friend came from abroad and is only here for a brief vacation.
He’s been away for the past decade and a half and he is maximizing his time to visit all the friends who were and still are dear to him. And that includes our neighbor.
I could still hear the gladness in their voices while talking outside their house.
