Independent living

Cousin Jay has been living independently for the past two years. It was not an easy transition for him as he was used to being fussed over by his mom, my aunt. It took him three months before he finally adjusted to his then new living arrangements.
Why did he chose to live independently, you might ask. Well, he is in a band with regular gigs around the metro. He handles the best dw drums and he’s really good at it! Since he would come and go at odd hours, he thought it would be better to get his own place so he wouldn’t bother his parents and two siblings with his work schedule.
Independent living suits him just fine now. Jay feels he matured and became responsible because of it. And you know what? He can now practice drumming all he wants and no one will be disturbed inside his home.
