Established in 1872, the Alpha Phi sorority has enjoyed a long and historic association with some of the most prestigious and academically elite universities in the United States. Alpha Phi is an international sorority with branches throughout the United States and Canada. Founded by ten female students at Syracuse University, the goals of the sorority have always been to create a supportive and social community for women in the educational environment. The Cato Institute’s Jenna Huhn recalls her association with the sorority fondly and credits the friendships and camaraderie she experienced at Alpha Phi as significant factors in her success at Boston University. These illustrious women have made a real impact on U.S. society and have achieved success in a wide range of public venues. Jenna Huhn is currently serving as a development coordinator for the Cato Institute and has enjoyed continued success since her graduation from Boston University in 2011. The communications skills and social success Huhn acquired from her relationships with sorority sisters in the Alpha Phi house allow her to perform her duties for the Cato Institute more effectively and provide her with the necessary self-confidence to achieve her goals in this elite public policy organization.
