In recent years, more and more people have become increasingly concerned with maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a proper diet. Whether it is for reasons of health risks or watching one’s figure, people have grown wary as to the dietary implications of having pasta as part of their meals. Fortunately, there is an entire line of affordable imported pasta now available in the Philippines that allow us to leave such worries behind.
The recent launch of Gallo Pasta at the Café Ysabel was an appetizing adventure. Chef extraordinaire Gene Gonzales prepared dishes using different varieties of the Gallo pasta and reinvented these using ingredients like curry and chorizos.
The Gallo Pasta range offers many nutritional benefits that cater to the different needs and tastes of both the health-conscious and the discriminating diners. Gallo’s Fiber Up! Line is made of real out fiber, which is essential in promoting health, regulating one’s weight, and preventing certain digestion-related diseases. It contains three times more fiber than regular pasta and whole-wheat pasta. Fiber Up contains no calories, cholesterol and fat. But, while it is a healthier option, it does not sacrifice taste. Available in spaghetti and macaroni, its taste and color are no different from regular pasta, putting even the most finicky eaters at ease.
Pasta Gallo has been producing over 100 kinds of dried and fresh pasta, ready-to-eat meals, and even pasta sauces in Spain for over 100 years now, and has always been dedicated to creating the best pasta for anyone to enjoy. And as the company is solely responsible for the entire pasta production process—from owning the wheat fields to manufacturing the final product—Pasta Gallo is able to bring products that are not only high in quality but are affordable as well. Such time-tested expertise has made Gallo the No. 1 pasta company in Spain and one of the five biggest producers in Europe. Locally, it is distributed by ADP Industries Corp.
On hand to greet and welcome the guests were Señor Antonio Salinas, the brand’s area manager who flew in from Barcelona and Arthur Palileo, president of ADP Industries Corp., the local distributor of the brand. Palileo brought his entire team, which includes Vangee Palileo, Aaron Palileo, Emman Alfonso, Michael Tandas, Ogie Rodriguez, LA Anasarias, Louie Caparas, Jun Laraya, Paul Mayoyo, Russel Cristie and Francis Oliva.
Cory Quirino hosted the event. Enjoying this special pasta experience were my dear Donnie Ramirez of Metro Magazine, Rod Cornejo of GMA 7, Norma Chikiamco, Francin Marquez and Charlie dela Rosa of Food Magazine, Jing Lejano and Bubbles Santos of Good Housekeeping, Dolly Dy and Raffy Zulueta of Flavors Magazine, Elaine Lim and Divine Mesina of Yummy Magazine, Vicky Montenegro of Preview, Mopet Poso of Daily Tribune, Ruby Lebajo and Christine Manangan of Cook Magazine, Dheza Marie Aguilar of Manila Standard Today and Perry Mallari of The Manila Times.
