Characters in the neighborhood

Every neighborhood has its different characters. We have separated couples who still live in the same house. We have two old blind men you can always see sitting where everyone passes by. There’s the gossip and the clown. These characters are the ones who give life to the entire neighborhood and gives it a distinction from others.

We had a neighbor whom you could always see smoking his ashton cigars in his patio. My sisters and I grew up believing he was a scientist or something. He was always doing one project after another. He did some amazing things for little kids like us. He passed away about a decade ago and he left countless junk inside his house to his only son.

I loved the characters in our neighborhood when I was still younger. I knew them and they knew me, too. These days, I don’t know half the number of persons living in our neighborhood. Too many new faces and little time on my part to get to know all of them.
