Inspiration, motivation

Friday, December 4th, 2009

I seek inspiration from so many things. Would you believe, electric fireplaces? Weird as this may sound to some people, when I see something new with my friends, I become motivated to work harder. No, not to get the same new item my friend has. But to be able to reach that level where I can also buy the same kind of item if I feel inclined to.

I am not really a very materialistic person. As long as I have enough, I am already happy with it. But, of course, you get to a point where you want to get something much better. I am at a point where I want a better house and a better lifestyle for me and my family. Thus, the need for motivation to work harder.

Business Holiday Invitation

Business Holiday Invitation

I am in-charge of Business Holiday Invitations. My neighbor hired me to help him out regarding his upcoming business holiday parties. There will be two. One of his employees only, the other one for his business associates and company officers. Since I don’t have much to do, I said yes and here I am, looking for the best Christmas business invitations I can get.

At Holiday-Invitations, a business holiday invitation can be personalized by adding a photo, picture or logo to it. My neighbor wants to have his logo on every invite so I just know he’ll like the site’s offer. Any design or color can also be adjusted for free as per request. And what I like about the site the most? They can print and ship on the same day! No need to worry about not sending out the invites on time.

At http://www.holiday-invitations.com, they will also throw in free business holiday thank you cards if you order the minimum amount they require. So go and check out the site now and find out more about it. As for me, I will be busy attending to my duties as sender of invites…

Over the weekend

Monday, November 30th, 2009

On weekends and holidays, our whole family converges in the living room to watch tv or just to talk. Because of this, we have a foldaway mattress ready to put on the floor so we can just lie on it for a more comfortable position.

I have a lot to say about the new television shows that I saw over the weekend as well as some political campaign ads. I hope to be able to put everything into writing within the next two days.

Today is a national holiday, how did you celebrate it?

Relief from stockings

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

They said that when you are overweight, you tend to get more varicose veins than others. It’s probably because of the tension that the excess weight is putting on the legs. Varicose veins can hurt if it becomes severe. So before that happens, go and get Jobst stockings for relief. Yes, the stockings’ compression therapy provides relief from tired and aching legs. It has wide band and is easy to put on.

For those who stand or sit for long periods at a time, better get this knee and leg support stockings. Go to RecoveryElements.com now for more information on Jobst stockings.

Life insurance

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

The grandmother of my sister’s friend died a few days ago. She was a dear woman who lived a full life and dedicated her last years taking care of the family. Her kids loved her so much and they are giving a good send-off for her.

When we went to the wake, I talked to one of the kin about life insurance. The deceased had none. To spend for the wake, the second to the eldest child borrowed money from friends. It just made me realize that had the deceased taken a life insurance when she was still alive, her love ones could have spent that insurance money to pay for her wake and burial. It made me realize how important a life insurance is. You don’t want to bother those you left behind, right?

Marketing strategy

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Marketing is a great way to generate interest over a product or brand. A cardboard display of a local product is usually put up in a pedestrian traffic corner. No need to advertise big if your product is seen daily by the pedestrian.

A friend of mine is trying to market his dental services through different ways. The best strategy that is paying off right now is his cardboard display at the church corner. That’s where his new clients are coming from.

The world of call center.

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I miss the call center world. I’ve been there for almost three years and I learned a lot from my stint there. Plus, I gained so much from my stay in terms of my people skills. I miss the night shifts when instead of people trickling down to a few, the office is becoming more and more noisy because of the operations people clocking in. I miss the fun activities. The first name basis with the top management people. And the general atmosphere of the place. I miss even the call center lingo like ecommerce fulfillment, OPS, floor, and so much more…

I don’t know if I will go back, though. Because the life in a call center is fast-paced, the pressure to deliver is higher. I lived a very stressful life before, especially during month and year ends. Triple the amount of pressure than when you are just in an ordinary company. The stress I do not miss. And the one that is stopping me from going back.

New York, New York

Friday, November 13th, 2009

When you tell me I need to go travel new york, I won’t say no to you. I love New York! I feel like in spirit, I am a native of that city. It’s a long story why I felt, and still feel, that way. Suffice it to say that I love the bright lights, the active lifestyle, the general feel of the city.

My friend told me that the city is what I expect it to be. I am not blind to the faults of the places I would love to go. Like my friend told me that she loves New York but her apartment seems a tad too unfriendly for her. Well, I think she’s just used to the friendliness of the locals here in the country. I just think that since everyone’s busy, she feels like they are giving her the cold shoulder. Or she might be right.

Whatever, I still love to be there. Explore the city for a few days, or even live there indefinitely.

Files storage

Friday, November 13th, 2009

It’s so easy to think of something to give my cousin who’s an IT guy. An Imprinted flash drive! He’s been complaining about a lack of storage for his new photos so I will give him one. He loves to take photos of so many things. He fancies himself a budding photographer. I haven’t seen his work yet but I would like to think he might have a potential (considering he’s my own blood ha! ha!).

In my case, I bought an external hard drive that I use for storing all my files. I back it up once a month by burning it to a DVD. Hopefully, that way, I can save up all the photos and other what-nots I have.

Mobile phone accessories

cellphone

My sister loves to send text messages and call her friends. She used to have a prepaid mobile line but then she switched to post paid already because she consumes a lot of cellphone load a month. Her phone is always at hand.

This coming Christmas, I already have an idea on what to give her. Can you guess? HTC Pure Cases for mobile phones! And any cellphone accessory that will go hand in hand with the new look. I saw some at HTC Pure Accessories. Knowing my sister, she’ll appreciate this kind of gift more than the book that I originally have in mind.

If you love enhancing your mobile phone like my sister, check out HTC Accessories. I just know you will find what you are looking for in that site.

To get a new laptop

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

If you are a regular reader of this blog, or you are one of my subscribers, you might have remembered my laptop, David. I bought him in May 2008 and he sort of given up on me last month. Probably due to overuse. I’ve been using it for several hours daily. Or the brand is not that good. Hmm…

laptop

I was talking to friends about getting a new laptop pretty soon. I miss the sound of the laptop keys. And I thought it was just me, but when I talked to Tim, she said that she can also write a lot more stuff when using her laptop. Hahaha.

I’ve been eyeing an MSI or Lenovo laptop for my next acquisition. Probably before November ends as I need to take care of other more important expenses first.
