College sports

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

College life is fun! Imagine being at school but enjoying life with less control from the parents… sweet! And one of the most fun activities in college is watching college sports. I think a lot of women out there will agree with me.

College basketball is one of my favorites. And of course, college football as well!

If you are a fan, too, and is rooting for the The University of Michigan Wolverines, better check out VividSeats.com now. They are offering Michigan Wolverines tickets. Go check it out now!

Whole clothing at a big discount

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

My friend is thinking of opening a clothing store in the province. It will be like the 99 peso store at the malls. Everything is ready by now. Legal documents, business permits and even the stall. There is only one thing that is lacking… where to get the clothes that she will sell!

I found Clothing4All.com that sells wholesale clothing. This shop is selling discounted clothes that you can sell at a premium. I will definitely tell my friend about this shop.

If you are also looking for wholesale clothing, better check out Clothing4All.com now.

Long-lasting batteries

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

We use a cordless phone at home. But as always, our problem with it are the batteries. What with my sister’s non-stop talking on the phone followed by my brother, you will surely find it drained of its batteries at the end of the day.

Good thing I found a cordless phone battery that is affordable and is long lasting. It is a quality product being offered by InsterstateBatteries.com, an online shop that has a wide selection of batteries for cellphones, digital cameras, cordless phones and many more.

The Glorietta incident

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Friday morning I was not feeling well. Nahihilo and masakit ang sikmura. I opted to go home around lunch time because I want to go to sleep. Nung nasa baba na ako ng building namin, naisip kong dumaan muna sa Glorietta para maglakad-lakad muna at baka sakaling mawala yung kakaibang nararamdaman ko. So I asked the taxi driver to take me to Glorietta. But when we’re already in Paseo de Roxas, I changed my mind.

And thank God I did. Had I not changed my mind, I would be in Glorietta as well when the bombing of Glorietta 2 happened.

I just woke up around 4pm Friday when I heard the news from my family. Believe me, ganon pala ang pakiramdam ng tunay na relief, nakakapanlambot.

We watched the news and it was really sad to see what some evil people can do. 9 confirmed dead and so many injured. Di man lang inisip nung gumawa na kung government ang target niya kapuwa naman niya civilian ang naperwisyo niya!

Let’s all pray for the victims of this Glorietta bombing. Let’s also pray that this won’t happen again.

Great gift

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

It’s 65 days before Christmas. I already made my list and I am doing some Christmas shopping a bit every weekend if I can. I found this cute animal inflatable. And I am thinking of giving it to a godson. It will be a really great gift as my godson will get to know the animal I will be choosing.

If you want an animal inflatable as well, you can go to The Jungle Store and check out their selection.

NaturalFormulations.net offers an osteoarthritis relief. NMS Neuromuscular Supportâ„¢ is being offered to people suffering from osteoarthritis among other related ailments. Check out NaturalFormulations.net for more information on this all-natural joint and muscle pain support formula. This is being sold with an unconditional 30-day money-back guarantee, by the way. Family drama

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I am a sucker for family dramas. I love watching shows that deals with families, siblings, mom and daughter…

Gilmore Girls is a show that deals with a relationship between a woman who got pregnant at 16 and her daughter. I love the first season of this drama because it really tackled how a single mom was able to raise a daughter on her own. I love how Lorelei (mom) and Rory (daughter) treat each other as best friends but still maintain a mother-daughter relationship. I like how Rory adores her mom so much that she is not ashamed to introduce her to everyone she knows and would rather spend Friday nights with her than go out. Watching this show, you’d wish you have the same relationship with your mom.

Seventh Heaven is another family drama I love watching. I am sure many here would relate to Holy week marathons of this show. This drama is all about how a family deals with issues within the family as well as with the society. I cannot relate with some issues because of cultural differences. But I like watching how the parents deal with their kids. And how they deal with their own issues in life.

Brothers & Sisters, as the title suggests, is all about siblings. 5 siblings with different professions and have their own lives to live but still manage to get together especially in times of trouble. 2 are already married but the other one is childless. 1 is a well-known political show host. 1 is a gay criminal lawyer. And the youngest a drug addict. I love the character of the eldest maybe because I can relate to her dilemma in doing her best to live up to her role of being the eldest in the brood.

One particular episode that I truly love is where the second sibling found out he is sterile. He was devastated and the other siblings did their best to cheer him up. And then he thought of a solution… he asked his gay brother to donate his sperm to his wife! The gay brother refused at first but in the end, his love for his sterile brother won and he and the youngest donated their sperms. Many conservative people out there will surely find this outrageous but I love how this particular episode has shown the way one can bend conventional rules for the love of another. I think even Neil Crespi will agree with me.

And of course, nothing beats the love Michael has for his brother Lincoln in Prison Break! Just imagine going to jail yourself just so you can save your brother… He went to all the trouble (even had some of his toes cut!) to be able to get his brother out of jail, illegal though it may be, and to prove he is innocent. I also love how LJ, Lincoln’s son, tells his father he loves him. How many kids these days tell their father they love them? I don’t know that many.

So there you go… these are just some of the family dramas I love watching. I will list down more in another post.

Happy Friday everyone!

What would you do?

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

What will you do if you have a best friend, already married, and is having marital problems? He insists in making you a pillar of strength even if you are in doubt whether you want to take on that role. Whenever you talk to him, he opens up and pours out his weaknesses and how he ought to just kill himself because he cannot act like a father should. And you are all tired of negating whatever harmful things he thinks he ought to do.

What will you do?

I am a good friend. Not because I am kind and all. It’s just that I believe in karma, that’s why. I am a good friend because I want to have good friends in return. And I can say that I do have some really good friends. Especially those from high school… and two from college.

I do not want to be a bad friend, most especially to a really close bud. But I am tired of everything. Don’t get me wrong, I love my best buds. The other one does not bother me with marital problems yet. He’s getting married soon. While the other one…

I just realized that maybe because I am used to seeing men like my dad, I am uncomfortable with the kind of setup I currently have with best bud no. 2. I don’t like it at all. I don’t like to always remind him to be strong for the kids, to not give up on the wife, to just hold on to the family and not harm himself. I particularly hate stopping him from leaving his family. I really hate it! It’s a sign of weakness and I hate it that a father can think of abandoning his family for whatever reason.

Now I am resorting to going invisible whenever he’s online. I hardly reply to his text messages.

And this afternoon, I cringed at a message I received from him. He’s asking if I am mad at him and if so, he does not want it to happen because I am the only one left that he can lean on.

I really don’t like it at all.

If you are in my position, what would you do?
