Work in progress
Like my new blog look? I have wanted to change my blog look again for my 1st Blogoversary but this is not yet it. I am still thinking of a header and will be asking Vanessa to do it. For now, this will do.
Over the next few days, you will be seeing changes in color (perhaps) and other stuff in the sidebar. Notice I already joined Entrecard. I will also be putting my Twitter updates here. I will be cleaning my archives and will make a few changes in the way I categorize my posts.
This blog will now be concentrating more on community/society issues that I deem relevant, blogging issues, wordpress and wordpress themes, coffee talks that simply means conversation topics which I think are better done over a cup of coffee, and of course reviews. I will still join memes but will concentrate on Weekend Snapshot, Litratong Pinoy, Food Friday and That’s My Answer.
And, by the way, my blogroll will change. I will be notifying those I will retain and will concentrate more on those that truly visit. I will be adding a button display corner for those blogs I really like. No more Spott for me. They display porn-type of images. I will rant more about this in one of my next posts.
Okay, that’s it for now. Expect more changes here so pardon the mess if you ever encounter some and again, wait for my blog anniversary contest
Happy Sunday everyone!
DSL connection
Another thing I need to consider within the week is how to configure the DSL connection at home. My cousin said that I just need to buy a Linksys router and he’ll do the rest. But I am worrying that I might encounter problems with my local DSL connection. I just have to trust that my cousin will be able to do something about the connection. I know that a router will do the trick. It has to be done.
I have so many ideas that will be put into action once the laptop is with me already. Can’t wait for it!
Drooling for that laptop
If things will go as planned, I will be buying my laptop this week. I have postponed buying it for so long. I originally planned to buy one last year, from my extra earnings. But it always got stalled because we either had to go someplace and the budget I have for it will be used for now. Or that I needed the money for something else more important. Now that my three sisters are also blogging, it is imperative that I buy one already.
I think I will be getting a cheaper brand, provided the laptop memory is of my liking. I need a higher capacity laptop because I will be doing another line of work there. Oh well, I will tell you more about the laptop within the week.
Budgeting 101
When you are in charge of budgeting the money at home, it becomes imperative that you take into consideration every single expense that you need to make for the next 15 days (that’s for our family). Utilities, medicine, basic needs, repairs and replacements like the Blanco sinks I am looking into, as well as a little bit of leisure for the family. I must admit that I go off the budget at times. Stuck to it when badly needed though.
My budgeting 101 lesson of the day is that, when you budget your money, allow a little room for contingencies. You just never know when you might need a penny or two for something else.
Changes…
Have you noticed the several PR updates that happened across the blogosphere the other day? Well I have! Imagine my surprise when I opened Sasha says and saw the Google toolbar in my Firefox browser went green in the PR side… PR2! Yeah baby!
I immediately checked it with a PR checker and yes, it said 2/10! Boy am I so glad!
God is really good!
Did your blog get an update as well?
After the slap, I was not really expecting an update anymore. But this is really a great gift. I must admit that the slap depressed me a bit when it happened. But hey, I tried to stay positive amidst it all. Hard but doable. And I did it.
Now all I can say is thank you and expect something new from this blog.
Sasha says’ 1st blogoversary will be on the 10th. And I will be announcing a contest by then. Plus this blog will be joining Entrecard very, very soon.
Happy Friday everyone!
Collectibles
You all know how some companies struggle with debt collection. Especially those that run installment sales. My sister is also an accountant like me. And she currently works for a furniture and equipment shop. She is having a hard time reconciling accounts left by the previous accountant. It is a two years’ worth of uncollected accounts. My sister is left to sort it all out.
But she also has other assignments that she has to do on top of the accounts receivable reconciliation. So she asked the finance director of their company for permission to get help from a third party. And that is a Collection Agency who can help them collect all those accounts over 120 days overdue. The finance director gave her the go signal she needed.
She started looking for a reputable collection agency that can help her get on top of the current problem. And she found American Profit Recovery, a collection agency who will help them recover those amounts that should have been collected a long time ago. American Profit Recovery charges a flat rate, a reasonable rate that will not eat a large portion of the collectible unlike other collection agencies.
If you are also interested in their services, go and visit them at AmericanProfit.net now.
IT guys helps out
Most of the time, a company focuses more on sales and operations and outsources the rest of the departments in the office. The IT department and the Human Resources and Payroll departments are the normally outsourced ones in the company.
But Technology today is very important for all companies. Technology gives a company an edge over its competitors. For example, I have been in a call center company for a couple of years and the ones that have the more advanced technology gains more clients than those who are merely ‘leasing’ from others. That much I know because I have been to two call center companies. The first one has the capacity to buy the most advanced technological tools to enhance operations and attract more clients in the long run. The other one is not that big a company and is merely leasing the facilities of another call center company. It has less clients compared to the other one.
ICorps, a New York IT Outsourcing company, can help you with your IT support outsourcing. You need not worry that you will get mediocre performance from their team. You will surely get your money’s worth with their superior service. So if you need IT help, just go to iCorps.com now and take a look at what they have to offer in terms of IT services and support.
Overrated
Don’t you just think that movies overrate love? I mean come on! It is being peddled like people are stupid and all. Take for example a new movie being shown right now. The leading man in the movie is way too old for the leading lady. And we are made to believe that they are almost of the same age and that they fell in love and stayed as beautiful as that. Hay…
I just don’t like the love angle of some movies. Movie producers are making us look stupid with all the sappy love stories they are feeding us.
Oh well, movies are like that, I guess.
A surprise visit
I was pleasantly surprised when my close friend of almost 20 years now visited me last weekend. It was a fun visit. We reminisced about the old times. You know, we grew up together in the same neighborhood. Got separated when they temporarily lived abroad and rekindled our friendship when her family came back to live permanently in the Philippines. They did not come back to their old house across the street. But the friendship that started when we were little kids became stronger through daily phone calls. And we saw each other in special occasions when they come visit.
I just missed her a lot. She is still single like me and is currently working for a big pharmaceutical company as an executive. Next time, I will be the one to visit her at her new condo unit.
David Cook all the way!
I am really rooting for David Cook. I just love the guy! If he does not win this season’s American Idol, then I don’t know what taste people have in music over there. Of course, the other David (Archuleta) is giving him a run for his money. The little guy has a multitude of fans! But I’d like to think that we David Cook fans are more in number
Who are you voting for? They are now down to five. I just wish either Syesha Mercado or Brooke White will go home next.
Let’s see.
Finding a love
I am still single. I enjoy taking care of my dad and my siblings and I enjoy life despite of all the setbacks I’ve had. I get along fine with just about anybody. I have friends who are there, always supporting me. I have my family silently cheering me on. But you know, however supportive everyone can be, there are times when loneliness creeps in. When you need someone during the dead of the night to tell you that everything will be fine. That’s what I miss about having someone.
My friends have been telling me to explore, date and be open to possibilities. I am exploring. And I found a Free Dating site where I can start meeting new friends and other singles like me. A site where I can possibly find that special someone I can call my own. I will try it. Or may be find a new friend. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain anyway.
