I am totally pissed at Bayantel’s Twitter support @AskBayan. I was trying to contact them for days because we lost our landline’s dial tone for some reason. Since we cannot contact Bayantel through phone, obviously, I thought I’d use their Twitter support service. I used the same service when I was in Singapore and my family was having problems with our landline and DSL. In fact, I was asked to follow @AskBayan and to DM (direct message) them the details of our Bayantel account. I am attaching the screenshot of the DM exchange between @AskBayan and me (@sacreyes).

I was very pleasant with them, even thanking them via DM (as you can see from the screenshot). I made two follow-ups but that’s it.

Then on September 17th, I once again tried contacting them because our DSL connection was erratic and my sister-in-law who was teaching online then was reprimanded because of it. Here’s the tweet I sent them:

@AskBayan Hi! Lost my DSL for a couple of mins and it got my sister-in-law a penalty on her online job. Can u help me get a ref # for it?

I didn’t get a response from them but I let it go because I forgot to make a follow-up and I was very busy then.

Fast forward to today, I sent them a tweet asking for help. When I tried to send them a DM, knowing full well the steps to take in order to send them the details of our account, I got an error message saying that I couldn’t DM an account I wasn’t following. I was confused because I knew I was a follower of @AskBayan. I searched their account and tried to follow. You can see the error that I got when I tried to follow them. Have you seen the error? I was blocked by @AskBayan! It made me wonder why I was blocked. You normally block someone when he/she has been posting spam in his/her timeline or that you are causing harm to the person/account you are following. I was neither. So what’s the reason I was blocked?!?

My conclusion: @AskBayan blocks a customer after helping them so the customer can’t contact them again! Ridiculous, don’t you think? What kind of customer service this company has? Is anybody checking this account or are the customer service people who handle the account given a free hand in blocking whoever they feel like blocking?

What did we do to get our dial tone back? Nakakahiya man, I asked my dad to call Bayantel through a neighbor’s landline phone. And you know what? Without a technician coming over, we got our dial tone back! Wonder of wonders! What is happening to Bayantel? We’ve been paying our account diligently, most of the time paying ahead of the due date. We are very patient in dealing with lost connections during a storm or power interruption. We are very patient in dealing with our erratic DSL connection. But this thing that @AskBayan did to me, without any reason, blocking just because, I cannot tolerate this! I will write about Bayantel until I hear from them. I want an explanation and an apology. They can’t do this and just get away with it.

I wonder how many subscribers have they done this to.

I cannot tolerate this kind of customer service! I’ve been patient way too long. Erratic DSL connection almost every night. Lost dial tone every few weeks. And we pay on time!!! What kind of customer service is this, blocking a customer without a reason!
