From bad to worse

I went out today and I saw a couple of people who need acne medication. I really think a lot of people have become prone to it these days especially with the weather. The heat can worsen an already bad acne. Or even one that’s about to start.

My suggestion is that you go to an expert to get it treated right away!

Media and beauty products

Have you noticed the increase in demand in beauty products? The media is feeding the viewing public the idea that physical beauty is what matters most. Which as we all know is crap but then admit it, you are roped into buying one of the many beauty products being marketed right now. I admit, I bought some of it to try it out.

For those using night creams, there’s prevera. Have you used this one yet? I am not a very ritualistic person. Just soap and water will do for me. If I use anything else, I end up with skin breakout. But I know some people who were able to clear their skin with the use of creams.

I read that economies world wide are slowly bouncing back on their feet. I like that! The recession hit almost every one so hard and it’s about time that we all be able to get back what we lost. So many people have lost their jobs. Slowly, they are getting it back. Slowly, with the like of Minneapolis job searches, people are getting back their livelihoods.

I just wish that before this year ends, everything would go back to normal. I must admit that my income is badly hit by the recession, too. 50% of what I used to earn went kaput. But I am hopeful. Soon, I know, it will all come back.

Our good old neighbor

Whenever I see bow ties, I remember our neighbor. He passed away a couple of years ago. Every morning, I could see him wearing his crisp white polo shirt with his bow tie on. He would attend the early morning mass and would go around the neighborhood checking up on every one he knew. And he knew a lot of people! I am not much of a social butterfly but he would still greet me every morning when he would pass by our house.

Just the other day, my sisters and I were talking about the good old ones. They are slowly leaving us one by one. It is just so sad when you think about it.

Sweat it out

Miles and Kari have both enrolled at a local gym. They have been working out for a week now and have been dead serious in their goal of losing weight. When they told me about it, I got envious. I have also been planning on going back to the gym but due to financial constraints, I couldn’t yet. I can probably stick to the diet pills that work for now. But I really want to sweat it out.

Soon. Probably around June. After all these indulgences this summer. And after paying for the next school year. By that time, I can afford to enroll already.

Waterless Metro Manila

You read it right. We are waterless! The Philippines is currently experiencing the El Niño phenomenon. Because of this, the water level in different dams has reached the critical point. According to news reports, hundreds of barangays in Metro Manila are experiencing water shortage.

In our area alone, there’s no water supply. We can only get water in between 1 and 3 in the morning. After that, nothing. We have a water pump and it’s a big help because without it, I don’t think we can even fill a pail. Even in between 1 and 3 in the morning, the water trickling from the faucet is very minimal.

It’s a big hassle. We have water drums that we fill whenever we can get water supply. But because there’s 7 of us in the house, the reserve water is not enough throughout the day. I am really praying for rain to fall. My reasons are these: to increase water supply and to alleviate the heat! Join me in praying for rain?

Travel time

It’s travel time for my aunt and her family. They live abroad and both my aunt and uncle are busy working almost 7 days a week to make both ends meet. They want to provide the best for their only daughter so they are working hard for her. Once a year, they travel to a place they haven’t been to. It’s their way to catch up and bond. This time around, they are bound to Edinburgh! My aunt told me about it when I saw her online last week, busy checking out the local scene in Edinburgh and already planning their itinerary.

They think I’m a snob.

I saw the baby shower invitations a neighbor was distributing. I am not invited to the baby shower but my other sister is. I’ve known that people in the neighborhood think I’m a snob. I don’t mingle. I don’t keep track of who’s who around. So they think that since I don’t even hobnob with them, I am a snob.

Well, the reason why I don’t mingle is that I don’t like neighbors acting familiar with us. I love my privacy. I don’t like other people prying into our private affairs. I do acknowledge them, especially the older neighbors whom I’ve known since I was a little kid. I even give donations for special neighborhood occasions. But that’s about it. I am happy with the way things are.
