Just thinking about you…

…and asking the Lord to shower you with His blessings today and always!

That was the message in the card that I received last Saturday from Sr. Karen finally we can fill the spaces between  after so many years of no personal communication with her (because of many circumstances as she was preparing to enter the convent). I was very eager to hear from her, so that Sunday morning I called her up with their phone in the convent. It was a teary eyed and much bursted laughter conversation, we’re just like those days in Bulacan…

sunday is a family day here it is very much alloted to the whole family where in fact all shops are close here during Sundays. Only the restaurants, cafeshops and amusement centers or parks are open. I planned to do some household chores that I was not able to do the rest of the week but my hubby insisted to go for a stroll at the botanical garden in cologne. As we were preparing the phone rang and it was my mother-in-law asking us to drop by at their house for some coffee and cakes. The mother and son agreed  that we went there after our walk. When we arrived at the park (after a 30 minutes ride and 10 minutes seaching for parking spaces)

I noticed…

a lot of families there having their picnics.

a newly wed who slipped out their reception  just to have a photo shooting

a group of tourist japanese or chinese (who even laid to the ground just to take up the best shot position for their photos)

different plants and flowers around the world from the phils were the ferns, a waling-waling orchird and a cassava plant.

i was very  amazed with the big and tall cactus/cacti plant

the sole of my feet were aching so we ended the walk and drove to my inlaws for a cup of coffee and fresh bake apple cake a specialty of my mother-in-law.

Waaaaaaah… watch out the calorie!!!

here are some pics:

on our way with the cable car on top…

entrance of the park…

on being addicted, my hubby forwarded this email to me…

To My Darling Wife

I’m sending you this letter in a bogus software company envelope so you’ll be sure to read it. Please forgive the deception, but I thought you should know what’s been going on since your computer entered our lives two years ago.

The children are doing well. Kevin is 7 now and is a bright, Handsome boy. He has developed quite an interest in the arts. He drew a family portrait for a school project. All the figures were good but yours was excellent!

The chair and back of your head are very realistic. You would be proud of him. Little Nikki turned 3 in September. She looks a lot like you did at that age. She is an attractive child and quite smart. She still remembers that you spent the whole afternoon with us on her birthday. What a grand day for Nikki, despite the fact that it was stormy and the electricity was out.

I discovered that the household chores are much easier since I realised that you didn’t mind being vacuumed and that the feather duster made you sneeze.

The house is in good shape. I had the living room painted last spring. I’m not sure if you noticed it. I asked the painters to cut air holes in the drop cloths so you wouldn’t be disturbed.

Well dear, I must be going. The family is leaving on a ski trip and there is much packing to do. I’ve hired a house-keeper to take care of things while we are away. She’ll keep things in order, fill your coffee cup and bring your meals to the computer room just the way you like it.

I hope you and the computer have a lovely time while we are gone. Kevin, Nikki and I think of you often. Try to remember us while your hard-disk is booting.

    Love, Andy
