nakatangap ako ng SMS message galing kay kumare ngayong araw nangungumusta at masayang ipinamalita na grumaduate na pala si inaanak sa kindergarten at ipinahabol regalo ko daw. haba na nga listahan ko ng utang sa mga inaanak ko. sobrang saya talaga naman ni kumare at napatapos na nya sa kindergarten si kulit. naalala ko nung grumaduate din ako sa kindergarten ah! dami ko nung candy na kwintas at yung nangangating everlasting. maliban sa mga kwintas may mga ribbon din ako. may presentation pa pala kami sa stage nun bilin ng mamang ko na lakasan ko daw ang pagbigkas ng aking tula at yun naka mikropono na nga itinodo lakas ko pa ang pagbigkas ng “pusy cat pusy cat where have you been ive been to london to visit na queen what did you do there? i frighten the mouse under the chair.” sa lakas nagulat ko ang mga inaantok na manonood hinanap ng aking mata si mamang ko upang malaman ang reaksyon niya ah, ayun! luhaang nakangiti sa akin sabay thumbs up. marami rin akong natutunan dun dahil nga mga teacher sa preschool ay mga “bakers” taga masa ng dunong. At hangang ngayon tandang-tanda ko pa ang natutunan ko sa mga krayola…

may matulis,

may kaakit-akit,

may mapurol,

may kakaibang pangalan,

In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.

a news of a 12 years old girl who gave birth to a son shocked and upset me today. the story goes that the 12 yrs old pupil complained a severe stomach pain and was brought by her parents to the hospital and she was examined being pregnant. Right there the girl brought out finally a 52 cm and 2800 g boy to the world. The girl was relieved but not the 17 year old boyfriend and father of the baby boy. He’s a suspect of having committed an offense because according to the law coitus with children under 14 yrs. old whether it happens by agreement or force stand under punishment.

tsk tsk tsk… in this situation all eyebrows were raised to the parents. or am i still in a culture shock? where parents here always reminded their children “please use protections”

As the cold gives way
to the warmer days
Warming up in the morning sunrays
I keep waiting with others
For the church door to open there
with spring breeze brushing the hair
Teasing my face with its refreshing fingers
The merry season passes over
paving way for the penance ‘n prayer
Comes Lent thru the Ash
ending the days of happy bash
“Dust to Dust” he would mutter
‘Wash me through…O Lord’, I utter.

In time with the start of Lenten Season this one is a good reflection for the Ash Wednesday

A young man was at the end of his rope, seeing no way out, he dropped
to his knees in prayer “Lord, I can’t go on,” he said.
“I have too heavy a cross to bear.”

The Lord replied, “My son, if you can’t bear its weight,
just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that
other door and pick out any cross you wish.”

The man was filled with relief and said,
“Thank you Lord,” and he did as he was told.

Upon entering the other room, he saw many crosses;
some so large the tops were not visible. Then,
he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.

“I’d like that one, Lord,” he whispered.

The Lord replied, “My son, that is the cross you just brought in.”

When life’s problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around
and see what other people are coping with. You may consider
yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.

YOUR CROSS
Whatever your cross
Whatever your pain
There will always be sunshine
After the rain
Perhaps you may stumble
Perhaps even fall
But God’s always there
To help you through it all.
